The Town, CA September 8th, 2023 – The Town FC announced that Shawn Tsao, co-founder of food delivery company Caviar, will be joining its investment group. Tsao is a successful entrepreneur and investor with a proven track record in the food tech industry. He is currently the co-founder and general partner of Beluga Capital, a venture capital firm that has invested in several food tech startups, restaurants, and other companies and was the co-founding chief operating officer of Caviar prior to its acquisition by Square in 2014.
“We are thrilled to welcome Shawn to our investment group,” said The Town FC Executive Board Member, Min Park. “His experience and knowledge in the food tech and restaurant industries will be invaluable as we grow the Town FC into a leading force in the soccer world. Shawn is a trusted friend and his operational skills are amazing. Plus, his passion for soccer stems from his attending the Women’s World Cup game where Brandi Chastain hit the game winning shot, so he is excited to create similar memories here”.
Shawn is an entrepreneur and investor with a passion for food and technology. Additionally to Caviar, he has also invested in and advised numerous food tech startups, restaurants, and other companies. He is also an advisor and mentor of Gold House, a non-profit organization that supports Asian and Pacific Islander representation in business and entrepreneurship and is a Board of Trustees of the UC Berkeley Foundation.
