The Town FC is excited to announce that Oakland native Manny Vasquez is the latest addition to The Town Council. Vasquez brings deep roots to the Oakland community, with a background which will provide tremendous perspective to our work in building the next generation of futbolers in the region. As a player, Vasquez represented the now defunct Bay Area Ambassadors while also playing on the indoor pro circuit with Bay Area Rosal. He also played with East Bay based Lamorinda SC before moving full time into the sales industry, where he still works today. In his role with The Town FC, Manny will help drive partnership development and will build connections into local people, groups and community based institutions who can unite with our club around the use of soccer as a vehicle for social change.
“Manny coming on board is another strong indication of who we are as an organization and the type of culture we want to build within The Town FC” said co-founder Benno Nagel. “Manny has a deep, deep love for Oakland and will be an outstanding leader for us to help build authentic partnerships with locally based people, businesses and community focused institutions in The Town. I’ve known Manny for close to 20 years going back to our time together playing for the Bay Oakes and can not think of a better person to help cultivate and grow the community, and purpose, of The Town FC.”
