The Town FC hasn’t lost to Ventura County FC this season. TTFC has scored four goals twice against its in-state rival.
THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. — Already locked into a playoff spot, The Town FC’s Sunday battle with Ventura County FC was for seeding. Second-place TTFC had no trouble taking down its California rival, winning 4-0 with two goals in each half at William Rolland Stadium.
Both of The Town FC’s first-half scores belonged to Nonso Adimabua, who entered the match one tally shy of TTFC’s franchise single-season goal-scoring record. Not only did Adimabua tie the record, but after scoring his 13th goal of the year, he etched his name in The Town FC history forever.
Adimabua’s 19 goal contributions (total goals and assists) are also a franchise record. The 2024 All-ACC Third Team nominee has scored in three straight games and is tied for fifth in the Golden Boot race.
His teammates also chipped in to allow TTFC to rebound from its loss against Whitecaps 2. In the 54th minute, Nick Fernandez broke loose, taking advantage of a VCFC defensive breakdown to net his sixth goal of 2025. Cruz Medina put the cherry on top 10 minutes after, cerebrally placing himself in the box to put TTFC up by four goals.
Goalkeeper Francesco Montali made four saves to secure his seventh clean sheet, which is the second-highest total in MLS NEXT Pro.
With the win, The Town FC finished undefeated against Ventura County FC in 2025, with one shootout victory and two regulation wins, outscoring VCFC 9-2.
