The Town FC is pleased to announce the addition of Oakland native Diane Robledo to The Town Council. Robledo joins the movement to build TheTown FC with an eye towards helping to lead the development of our community based soccer programming. Her addition will also help drive our efforts to shape and direct action towards equitably growing access to sport for young girls of color, and for aspiring female players overall. In 20 years as a youth educator, Diane has worked as a coach and director in local clubs such as East Bay United (Bay Oaks), Lamorinda, San Ramon FC and Sheriffs FC, while also coaching Varsity High School soccer at both Piedmont HS and Alameda HS. Diane works additionally as a Special Education Paraeducator in the Piedmont Unified School District.
“I am so excited to be a part of The Town Council to grow The Town FC”, said Robeldo. “Soccer is my life, my love, and my passion. Oakland is the community I was born and raised in, and that is an important part of my identity, as my experiences growing up here have helped to shape me as a person. As a competitive female soccer player, coach, and educator, I can contribute an important insight to this project. It has been a lifelong dream to be a part of something so big that links two such important things in my life, my love and passion for soccer and my Oakland community.”
“We are beyond excited to have Diane join The Town Council”, said Town Council member Zlatan Kuckovic. “I have personally known Diane for the last 20 years and I couldn’t think of anyone that has devoted more of their time to better the east bay soccer community. Her love and passion for the game is unmatched. Her entire life she has been around the game in whatever capacity she could and I am honored to have her join our team.”
