The Town FC is excited to announce that Lauren Nadler has joined The Town Council.  Nadler brings a wealth of experience to The Town FC through her work at the collegiate level and will provide an immediate impact in accelerating the growth of our women’s soccer program.  A 12  year college coaching veteran, Nadler was most recently named head coach at NCAA D2, Academy of Art University after a standout four year tenure as head coach of UC Santa Cruz.  In her 6 years at UC Santa Cruz, which included two years as an assistant, the Banana Slugs reached the 2015 NCAA Tournament with repeat trips in 2016, 2017 and 2019.  In 2019, they also won the ACAA Conference Championship, ending the season with the program’s best record in 14 seasons.  Nadler is a four-time conference coach of the year, and a two time national finalist for the NCAA Division III LGTBQ Administrator/Coach of the Year.  Off the field, she co-created the S.L.U.G. Leadership Academy, a year-long leadership program for student-athletes at UC Santa Cruz and will begin her first season at the helm of Academy of Art in the Fall of 2022.

Prior to her transition into coaching, Nadler played collegiately at Lesley University and graduated with a BS degree before continuing her education at Tufts University, where she would go on to earn her master’s degree in Urban and Environmental Policy and Planning.  Prior to her posts in Santa Cruz, and now San Francisco, Nadler worked at Dominican University in San Rafael as well as at City College of San Francisco, where she helped the team earn a No. 4 ranking in the country.  She also spent five years at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), helping the team make three NCAA tournament appearances, including advancing to the Sweet 16.

An Oakland resident, Nadler also heads up the women’s soccer program at Bishop O’Dowd High School. In joining the Town FC, Nadler has this to say on her continued role in growing soccer in The Town, “I am thrilled to join this effort to bring women’s soccer to the Town.  These athletes and this community deserve nothing less than excellence and I look forward to being a part of elevating women’s sports in our community.”
